SalaryLK collects: Anonymous salary submissions (role, experience, location, company type), Usage analytics (pages visited, search queries, time on site), Contact form submissions (email, message content), Newsletter subscriptions (email address). We do NOT collect: Personal identification (name, NIC, address), Banking or financial account information, Employer-specific identity unless voluntarily submitted, IP addresses stored beyond session for security. All salary data is aggregated and anonymized - no individual can be identified from published data.
How is salary data protected?
Salary data protection measures: Data anonymization - all submissions stripped of identifying information, Aggregation - individual data never published, only ranges and averages, Encryption - all data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS 1.3, Access controls - limited authorized personnel only, Retention limits - data older than 24 months depersonalized further, No sale - we never sell individual data to third parties, Secure hosting - AWS infrastructure with SOC 2 compliance. Does SalaryLK use cookies?
SalaryLK uses cookies for: Essential - session management, security, site functionality, Analytics - understanding site usage, page performance, user flow, Preferences - remembering language, display settings. We do NOT use cookies for: Third-party advertising, Cross-site tracking, Sale of data to advertisers. You can disable cookies in browser settings, though some site features may not function. Can I request my data be deleted?
Yes, you can request data deletion: Email privacy@salarylk.com with “Data Deletion Request”, Include the email address used for contact form or newsletter, Allow 30 days for complete processing, We will delete: contact form submissions, newsletter subscription, any personally identifiable data. We retain: anonymized salary data (cannot be linked to you), aggregated analytics data. Data deletion is processed within 30 days with confirmation email sent.
Who has access to submitted salary data?
Access to salary data is strictly controlled: Only authorized SalaryLK data analysts, No access for: advertisers, third parties, employers, public. Individual submissions are: Never shared with employers, Never published individually, Aggregated before any analysis or publication. Company-specific data only shows ranges with minimum 5 submissions to protect anonymity. We maintain strict separation between individual submissions and published insights. Employers cannot access individual submissions or identify specific employees.
How long is data retained?
Data retention periods: Salary submissions - aggregated and anonymized indefinitely for trend analysis, Contact form data - deleted after resolution, maximum 24 months, Newsletter data - retained until unsubscribe request, Analytics data - depersonalized after 26 months, IP addresses - Deleted after session, maximum 24 hours. You can request deletion at any time. Older data contributes to historical salary trends - all anonymized and aggregated. Data retention follows Sri Lanka data protection best practices.
Does SalaryLK share data with third parties?
Data sharing policy: We do NOT sell personal data, We do NOT share individual salary submissions, We do NOT provide data to employers to identify employees. We MAY share: Aggregated, anonymized salary statistics in research reports, Anonymous usage statistics with analytics partners, Legal requirements if compelled by Sri Lankan law. All sharing is aggregated and anonymized - no individual identification possible. Research partnerships require adherence to our privacy standards. Data is never shared for advertising purposes.
How do I submit salary data anonymously?
Anonymous salary submission: Visit any salary guide page, Use submission form with no email required, Provide only: role, years experience, salary range, city, industry, company size. We do NOT ask for: Name, email, company name, personal identification. Submission is 100% anonymous - no way to identify you. Data is immediately anonymized and aggregated with other submissions. Location data is city-level only for regional analysis. Your anonymity is protected throughout the process.
What are my privacy rights?
Your privacy rights with SalaryLK: Access - request summary of data we hold about you, Deletion - request removal of personal data, Correction - update inaccurate information, Opt-out - unsubscribe from communications anytime, Portability - receive your data in standard format. These rights apply to: contact submissions, newsletter subscriptions. Salary submissions are anonymous - no individual right applies. Sri Lanka residents have full data protection rights.
